End-of-contract data extraction
There are a number of ways in which users can extract their data when their contract ends, or at any point during their current contract for other data integration purposes. We support all of the industry standard data extraction formats including XML, CSV and specifically for schools, CTF (Common Transfer File). We also support the Access 4 Learning Systems Interoperability Framework standard (A4L SIF).

Ultimately the data belongs to the customer and our ethos is to remove access to data barriers.
End-of-contract process
We do not typically levy any additional charges at the end of a contract. We will support customers as far as is possible to extract the data required to migrate to a replacement equivalent service.

Availability and resilience

Guaranteed availability
99.999% cloud hosting availability assured by contractual commitment.
99.99% service availability excluding planned maintenance windows.
Approach to resilience
Pupil Asset MIS and Tracker are Cloud hosted services. There is no requirement for local on-site hosting infrastructure. Pupil Asset has been architected from the ground up to have a light footprint with minimal impact upon bandwidth - comparable with typical well-designed web applications. A reliable Internet connection is all that is required to access and use Pupil Asset’s products and services.

Capacity, resilience and redundancy are all managed at the Cloud level. Pupil Asset takes advantage of the ability for capacity to be flexed up (and down) as demand requires e.g. census returns may consume above average capacity, whilst holiday periods need less. The nature of Cloud hosting affords resilience and redundancy across multiple virtualised servers and across geographically linked data centres. Furthermore, as previously referenced, Pupil Asset adheres to the ISO/IEC 27001:2013 standard for Information Security and hosting provider is ISO/IEC 27001:2013 accredited.
Outage reporting
Full system outages are reported via email alerts, Twitter and on our public facing website at http://www.pupilasset.com.

Users are typically alerted to partial outages via the secure in-platform Pupil Asset messaging system called Pattr.
