The product LuciadRIA offers a 2D & 3D map visualisation and desktop-like user interaction in the browser. The 3D capabilities include 3D terrain as well as reality meshes and point clouds. No plugins needed, all main browsers are supported, including mobile browsers. The product is customisable to the customer's needs.

Description of service interface LuciadRIA offers support for the display of Web Map Service (WMS) raster data and Web Feature Service (WFS) feature data.

WMS: There are two ways in which you can visualise WMS services on a LuciadRIA Map:

1. LuciadRIA requests tiles from a WMS service and stitches them together.
2. LuciadRIA requests a single image from the WMS service.

WFS: WFS data is displayed by means of a FeatureModel on which a WFSFeatureStore is set. The WFSFeatureStore can communicate with WFS servers that serve feature data encoded in the GeoJSON\ or GML\ formats.

What users can and can't do using the API LuciadRIA is a modular Javascript library. It consists of a large number of finely grained Javascript components that can be included in your application as required. This means that only Javascript code that is needed by the web application will be downloaded.

To realise such a component model, LuciadRIA builds on the Asynchronous Module Definition (AMD) API for component loading and dependency management. Each LuciadRIA component is conceived as an AMD module. An AMD module is a code component which can be loaded asynchronously under the AMD specification.

Description of customisation Via configuration and custom extensions, any desired capability can be created. User requirements can be matched 100%. The whole Luciad product portfolio delivers technology supporting the user, not the other way around. The API is designed to support a maximal amount of use cases.
