Support & maintain a cloud estate (AWS), drive infrastructure optimisation and automation. Implement best practice & scripted management of cloud based databases (Redshift, Oracle, Aurora).

- 5 days in the office. A week's on-call duties (rota based) will be paid an additional 6th day.

Skills and experience

- SC cleared, or willing and capable to undergo SC clearance process
- 3+ years RedHat Enterprise Linux experience, or RHCE certified RHEL7
- 3+ years enterprise production AWS experience, or AWS DevOps/SysOps Associate
- 3+ years Chef/Ansible/Puppet scripting experience, or software
- 2+ years experience with Hadoop cluster administration
- 2+ years experience with AWS RDS administration
- 2+ years experience with ETL scripting in Python (or other language)
- Nice-to-have skills and experience

- Proven experience of implementing cloud infrastructure best practices in relation to security, user access management, patterns, standards, etc.
- Experience with security hardening of databases
- Experience using dev tools (Git, Jenkins, Nexus)
- Experience using monitoring tools (Splunk, DataDog, Qualys)
- ITIL Foundation certified

This is a re-issue of the ‘Senior DevOps support with on-call (DBA focused)’ role, with the following specific amendments to the 'Technical Competence' section. They are:
2+ years experience with Hadoop cluster administration
- 2+ years experience with AWS RDS administration
- 2+ years experience with ETL scripting in Python (or other language)
