Who the specialist will work with The existing team in place includes the NHS UK programme manager with the Portfolio Tech Architect working with other internal teams such as Commercial and Finance
What the specialist will work on •Support development and implementation of the ETP delivery operating model and more consistent ways of working across programmes.
•Transition new ETP portfolio requirements from concept into commissioning and delivery.
•Produce and maintain plans at ETP portfolio level.
•Improve quality and consistency of reporting and governance across the ETP portfolio, working with PMO colleagues.
•Support Commercial and Finance colleagues in aligning sourcing and estimating with required governance.
•Support alignment of ETP portfolio with required standards adherence, in particular DbD.
•Support programmes in building sustainable capability.

  • Experience of managing and governing delivery of complex portfolios with multiple programmes in parallel

3. Please can you confirm the maximum day rate on offer? NHS Digital is seeking the right candidate for this role and are estimating a pay rate of £750 to £795 to the specialist.

6. What department within NHS Digital will this role sit? It will sit in the Empowering the Person Portfolio, within Citizen Health Tech and in the Product Development Directorate
7. Can the main base be in Leeds with some ad hoc travel to London? Unfortunately, in this case this role will need to be predominately based in London.

9. How often will travel to Leeds be required? I.e. how many times per week/month? This role has been advertised for the individual to travel to Leeds therefore we are looking for someone with the flexibility. The exact frequency is not known as it will depend on a number of factors and will differ on a weekly basis.
10. Could you confirm if the role is based in London or if it is based in Leeds? The role will be based in London with some travel to Leeds. As stated previously the frequency of travel to Leeds is not know and will depend on a number of factors and will differ on a weekly basis.
11. Please can you confirm if £750 to £795 is inclusive of agency fees? Also is that exclusive of VAT? No, this is pay to the candidate only and it excludes VAT
12. Could you confirm what your usual position is regarding expenses please? Our usual position is that expenses are not payable as this is a multi-location Contract (London/Leeds)
13. Please can you confirm if expenses are available given the split location of London and Leeds? Most travel will be sourced by NHS Digital directly therefore there will be limited need for expenses. The rate assumes that expenses will be covered by the specialist. Any other expenses would need to be agreed by NHS Digital.
14. Does the day rate exclude vat and are expenses paid separately? The rate assumes that expenses will be covered by the specialist. This is a multi-location contract (London/Leeds) and any travel will be arranged and coordinated by NHS Digital directly. Any other expenses will need to be approved and if this was the case these will be included on invoices.
15. What is the current team size of the ETP Portfolio? And the expected delivery team size at the peak? There is currently no construct at the portfolio level. The role of the individual is very much focused on creating portfolio level activity. Within each programme within the portfolio there is a large delivery team. There will be no direct accountability of this portfolio lead to the delivery teams.
16. What is the estimated delivery date of the whole ETP solution? This delivery lead will be expected to bring reporting and consistency at portfolio level and this will have to be done in line with the contract period.
17. What is the total budget of ETP Portfolio/programme? There is no budget at ETP level. Individual programmes in ETP have individual budgets.
18. What is the current phase of ETP programme? This is a new requirement to develop consistency and reporting at portfolio level.
19. What key activities have been completed till date? Limited activities have been done to date. This has been specifically on governance.
20. Will this specialist be reporting to NHS UK ETP programme manager? Reporting will directly to be Director of ETP.
21. How many days will the specialist be required to work onsite in Leeds please? The main location will be London however there will be regular trips to Leeds. This is likely to be a day a week.
