About the work

Why the work is being done
We have some reliability and resiliency issues with both our LAN/WAN and the telephony platforms that run on the network and would like an independent review of the current position and plan to make the network more reliable and resilient. Secondly a review of the telephony platforms we are implementing to ensure they are both designed correctly and fit for purpose
Problem to be solved
Lacking assurance of network resilience and telephony design
Who the users are and what they need to do
In excess of 4000 users need to consume their ICT service from the Devon County Council network and the roll-out of telephony platforms for staff and customer teams with complex telephony routing requirements suitable for contact centre working
Early market engagement
Any work that’s already been done
A network improvement plan exists and we would like that reviewed as being an appropriate plan. A telephony platform design needs review to ensure it's fit for purpose.
Existing team
Devon County Council internal ICT team and potentially external supplier who originally designed the telephony platform

Questions asked by suppliers

1. Could we ask how long you expect this work to take and also what sort of budget you have in mind please?
It is anticipated that the work would take up to 10 days and be within a £10,000 budget.
2. Is there is an estimated budget for the work (not listed currently), and are there any expectations around duration or timescales please? We can see a start date listed but nothing else. Many thanks
I'm unclear whether this overlaps with the first question already answered or is a question around budget for and subsequent work post review? Timescales and budget have been set at up to 10 days and £10,000 for the report. No budget has yet been set for any subsequent work as it's unknown whether any is required.
