- Home Office have already evaluated various BI tools and chosen Microsoft Power BI as a strategic BI Visualisation Tool.
- Who the specialist will work with
- There is a team allocated to this work formed of 1 Product Manager, 1 BA, 1 Power BI developer, 1 Lead Architect, 1 Dev-ops Engineer, 2 Bus. Change Managers.
- What the specialist will work on

Develop interactive reports, dashboards for visual insights using PowerBI SSAS, SSIS and SQL Server, PBIRS on-premises reporting server - including disaster recovery - hosted in AWS.
Implement data feeds to private cloud data stores using Data connectors
Data analysis, multi-dimensional data modelling, tabular modelling.
Manage personal or sensitive information with appropriate controls and protection.
Design and implement database sharding with the capability of Horizontal scaling.
Assist in the procurement process for AWS Platforms and BI components.
Identify technical risks and dependencies.
Implement Active Directory service with Kerberos authentication.
Train Technical and non-technical users to manage the BI platform and products.

Work is based in London and will involve the supplier being on site 5 days per week to work collaboratively with HMPO teams; travel and expenses remains the responsibility of the supplier.
Service design and development must align with the HM Passport Office strategic technical architecture and technologies. - Security clearance
- SC Clearance is required. HM Passport Office will support the clearance process.

- Have demonstrable experience of successfully understanding user needs and designing services to support them, implementing BI POC solutions and improving them using Agile methods and practices.
- Have demonstrable experience of using AWS environment, Power BI to develop interactive reports and dashboards for visual insights, SQL databases and data warehouse services.
- Have demonstrable experience in designing and implementing Multi- dimensional and Tabular models using Microsoft SSAS, creating scheduled Ingestion Pipes using Microsoft SSIS, Data connectors to private cloud data stores.
- Have demonstrable experience of managing sensitive information with appropriate controls and protection, designing, maintaining database architecture, conceptual, logical and physical data models for business intelligence with disaster recovery.
- Have a good understanding of Column store indexes and experience in Enterprise data modelling.
- Have demonstrable experience of successfully working with other suppliers/3rd parties/other partners in the delivery of public sector digital services.

- Have demonstrable experience of delivering digital solutions that meet Level AA of the W3C WCAG 2.0 accessibility standards.
- Have demonstrable experience of successfully and collaboratively working, coaching and sharing knowledge with Public Sector client teams, particularly those with limited agile development experience.
- Have demonstrable experience of successful design and implementation for cloud based BI / data analytics solutions utilising Microsoft PowerBI.
- Have demonstrable experience of Data Analysis, Data Cleansing, Database Administration and Analytics.
- Know of Microsoft Azure Data Warehouse would be advantageous to compare solutions built in AWS and Azure.
