Who the specialist will work with Networks BLOS is a combined Military, Civilian and contractor team to provide Skynet 5 services. The direct line manager for this post is MoD Civil Servant.
What the specialist will work on The role provides service performance analysis, payment of invoices, compensation events, sentencing and management processes contained in the SKYNET 5 PFI contract and providing Continuing Service Assurance of specific MOD services.

The post is responsible for advising on contractual payments iaw the SKYNET 5 contract, service credits and implications of poor performance. This includes responsibility for remedial actions for errors on invoices or failures of service and assuring corrective actions have been taken as agreed and responsible for providing historical information on the SKYNET 5 PFI contract.

The role is critical to preparing the transition from Skynet 5 to FBLOS.

Working arrangements All tasking will take place from MoD Corsham to enable working in the BLOS team, and therefore attendance is expected 5 days a week. The working day will be 8 hours, including a 30 min lunch break. Day visits may be required within the UK including Portsmouth, Stevenage and Oakhanger. Overnight visits will only be permitted if permissions is sought in advance.
Security clearance SC clearance must be in place for the duration of the contract

3. Can you please confirm if there is a current preferred supplier for this task? There is no preferred supplier for this task.
4. Is the client willing to sponsor the Contractor to become SC cleared? Whilst we are willing to sponsor the contractor to become SC cleared, any individual would require to be SC cleared prior to commencing work and therefore this may delay the employment. The preference would be to those who currently hold SC clearance to prevent delays to starting this work.
5. Can the Authority confirm the submission date of 26 Dec 2017? We confirm this date is correct.
6. Any chances of change in start date as the latest date mentioned is Monday 12 February 2018 We do not intend changing the start date

11. Is there any travel involved in this role and will the travel expenses be paid ? There may be occasional attendance of meetings at various UK locations for which T&S is chargeable.
12. Would you consider work permit holders (e.g. Tier 2 General Visa) and EU passport holders for this role. Yes as long as SC clearance is gained.
13. What is the lead time for feedback once the application is submitted? 2 weeks after the closing date for applications.
14. What are the other expenses which will be paid? As per the DOS advertisement. T&S rates will be negotiated at a later stage, however the expectation is that these would be based on Civil Service T&S rates.

With reference to the presentation; please can you provide us with details to support our preparation, including; date, duration, and any information you may have regarding who is anticipated as the MOD audience? Following a paper sift, interviews will be called for mid Jan 18. The interviews will last for 30 to 60 min conducted by the line manager and an independent with a commercial officer observing and will be based around the CV of the candidate.
