- As part of our Data Strategy the FCA is increasing its advanced analytics capability. The new RegTech and Advanced Analytics Department (RAA) will lead the development of organisation-wide capability to support a more analytics-led regulatory approach
- What the specialist will work on

"We are seeking data science capability to bring capacity, skills and knowledge to deliver the following outcomes:
- Complete 3-4 different Analytics projects during the timeframe (including multiple projects at once)
- Build credibility and demonstrate the value of analytics to a range of FCA stakeholders through outputs and communication skills
- Integrate resources so they work effectively as part of the FCA's RAA department with FCA involvement in performance management
- Provided key technical skills required by the FCA team with the ability to upskill project resources to meet specific /new skill demands"

"We expect the team to work at the FCA's offices in Canary Wharf 5 days a week between 9am and 5pm. They will join the RegTech and Advanced Analytics department (created in October 2017 comprised of FCA Resource, External Academics and third party suppliers).
Expenses should be included in the Supplier's price submission and will not be paid separately" - Security clearance

- 1. What is the IR35 status for this role?
- The intermediaries legislation doesn't apply to this engagement
- 2. Are you looking for a Junior Data Scientist for this position? The skills and experiences required for the role demand a much higher day rate than your suggestion.
- We are looking for more junior expertise.
- 3. Do you expect the role to extend beyond the 3 months?
- There is a possibility but this would not be confirmed until February or March of next year.
- 4. What is the lead time for feedback once the application is submitted?

The roles will be based on site in the FCA's offices here at Canary Wharf or at Stratford should the contract be extended beyond the 3 month term (the FCA is due to move to the Stratford International Quarter in 2018 expected to be around March/April time).
No travel within the working day or between sites is expected and therefore travel expenses will not be required. - 10. Is the rate inclusive or exclusive of VAT?
