- Specialist will be part of data architecture team working closely with the Enterprise Data Architect. Specialist will be required to work with multiple development teams and existing vendor to understand legacy and new data structures.

We expect the specialist to work collaboratively with project teams that are transforming Her Majesty’s Passport Office business/processes/applications.
Work is based in London and will involve being on site 5 days per week. There may be an occasional need to attend our other offices in Central London (Petty France). No travel expenses will be paid for this purpose. Expenses for any exceptional travel authorised outside of Central London will fall under the Standard Government Terms and Conditions for Expenses as covered in the DOS Contract.
Service design and development must align with HM Passport Office strategic technical architecture and technologies. - Security clearance

- Demonstrable experience of successfully designing and implementing data migration, data transformation, data quality, modelling, testing and post production reviews from Oracle to a Big Data or another relational database.
- Have demonstrable experience of successfully implement Oracle Advance Security and manage personal and/or sensitive information with appropriate controls and protection.
- Demonstrable experience of Backup and Recovery techniques& using Oracle Administration& Oracle RMAN, Oracle Flashback and other methods, including Patching & upgrades (whilst minimising or eliminating the impact dependent services)
- Have demonstrable experience of High Availability components; Oracle Clusterware, Oracle RAC, Oracle Data Guard
- Have demonstrable experience of PL/SQL and Advanced Queues.
- Nice-to-have skills and experience

- Have demonstrable experience of successfully and collaboratively working, coaching and sharing knowledge with Public Sector client teams.
- Have demonstrable experience of Her Majesty's Passport Office business processes and data stores.

- HM Passport Office will not provide Visa sponsorship. The security clearance will require the individual to have been living continuously in the UK for ten years.

The vacancy closes on 31 October. We will aim to shortlist candidates and interview in the week commencing 13 November. The results would be sent to candidates in the intervening period.

- A candidate should be ready to start from 04 December 2017. We acknowledge that candidates who are not DV cleared will not be able to start until they receive this clearance. However they will have to be available from 04 December 2017 so that they can start immediately from the date of clearance being received.
