- Who the specialist will work with
- Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team with responsibility to provide data to operational sites and colleagues to allow them to track, understand and improve operational performance. Types of roles that are included in this team are Full Stack Web Developers, Data Engineers, Java Software Engineers, UX designers, Data Scientists, Data Analysts, BI reporting Analysts.
- What the specialist will work on

- Develop data marts and cubes using SQL and other appropriate technologies.
- Build SQL stored procedures to support specific reporting requirements in Postgres and Hive.
- Develop APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
- Manage code versioning using Git.
- Follow and contribute to the improvement of team release processes.
- Work in an agile environment following a prioritised backlog.
Work setup

- Working arrangements
- 5 days a week on-site working as part of a multi-disciplinary agile delivery team with work being specified by a work management system (JIRA). You will attend daily Town Halls, Stand-ups and relevant Show & Tells to monitor/discuss progress.

- Willingness to apply for SC level clearance or have existing level SC clearance will be required.

- Experience of working with complex data structures in json format
- Experience of writing SQL to transform complex data in large databases. Experience of creating stored SQL procedures to support reporting requirements.
- Knowledge of the following tools: Postgres, Mongo, Spring Boot, IntelliJ, HDFS, Hive
- Knowledge of Business Intelligence production best practice and creation of data marts / cubes of data
- Experience of working with DWP or similar organisation in the last 3 years.
