User Researchers will be key to a multi-disciplined DWP Accessibility Technologies team delivering accessibility technologies. You are required to plan and lead user research activities, prioritising decisions and work based on user needs. An expert in problem definition and selecting appropriate research strategies to tackle issues and understand user needs.

You will be working as part of an internal multidisciplinary Accessibility Technologies product team and will have access to team members, leadership and our users.
What the specialist will work on
You will be working as part of an internal multidisciplinary Accessibility product team helping to deliver accessibility technologies improving user experience.You will be accountable for the end-to-end delivery of research, developing and delivering research that considers the time & budget vs outcomes perspective. You will bring to team your recommendations and insights that focuses on user behaviours and experiences based on evidence gathered using a range of research methods.

Working arrangements
Working arrangements will be a blend of remote working and working from a HUB site, you will spend roughly 40% of your time onsite and 60% at home. Regular travel to Sheffield HUB site will be required.

  • Experience of doing research for internal applications for large private organisations or Government departments
  • Experience of user-centered analysis and design
  • Experience of using a range of research methods to generate insights
  • Experience of using qualitative and quantitative methods based on requirements
  • Experience of working in agile software development teams, helping to prioritise features utilising research and problem definition
Nice-to-have skills and experience
  • Experience of doing research for accessibility related user needs/problems
  • Experience of doing user research with Digital Workplace solutions context
  • Strong Communication skills
  • Able to present recommendations and findings to senior leadership
