About the work
- Why the work is being done
- The Trusts' current websites are no longer fit for purpose. The content and design is dated, it is not accessible, does not always display properly depending on the device/screen, the search function doesn’t work well, the analytics are limited, and the CMS doesn’t always function as intended. We need modern, accessible website which support our Communications teams to manage information in partnership with multiple stakeholders.
- Problem to be solved
- We need to be able to ensure that everyone who needs our help can easily find the support and information they need, and that we sell each Trust as a great place to work. Each Trust has one main website and various other stand-alone sites designed and built for specific purposes and varying audiences.
- Who the users are and what they need to do
- Our websites will be used by the public to access information about services and policies, by staff to access information pertaining to their current employment, by stakeholders to access private documents shared by specific Trust teams (for example, Governors accessing board papers shared by the Corporate Gov team), and by specialist teams within each Trust to publish information for other healthcare professionals. The Communications teams will need to have access to document management information, usage reports, and website status monitoring information.
- Early market engagement
- Any work that’s already been done
- We have completed limited user research over the past 18 to determine required features and have assessed the two CMSs currently in use for features we'd like to keep and features we think are missing.

- Communications Managers at each Trust, support by their corresponding teams, and a set of content editors.
