- We are looking for an experienced MS accredited BI technical architect to undertake a review of the data architecture and development lifecycle within our Adult Social Care service with a view to simplifying and improving delivery time, with an option to support the council implementing the recommendations.

- The specialist would work with the Business Intelligence manager, their team, the data warehousing team, DBAs, solutions architect and service development team within the Digital information service directorate
- What the specialist will work on

Review of Business Intelligence processes (acquisition and modelling, analysis and visualisation) and approach within Adult Social Care Directorate.
Discovery Phase:
Review business requirements
Review current development processes for delivering the requirement
Review implementation of BI technologies against requirements
Propose recommendations for improvements to design, process and technology use.
Implementation Phase: (optional subject to council accepting the recommendations).
Support high level / detailed solution design work
Support production of a BI roadmap for client
Support production of an action plan (short, mid, long term actions).
Key outcomes are to reduce the duration of and simplify the production cycle of BI Assets.

- Two locations in Leeds City Centre. Merrion House and St Georges House

The role will involve on site face to face meetings and / or workshops with key stakeholders across our two locations during the discovery phase.
It is expected that the individual will work Monday to Friday and be on site at least two days per week, specific days will be dependent on availability of council staff. Work that doesn't require onsite presence can be done remotely, such as research, analysis, writing up the recommendations etc.
Should access to council systems be required, laptops and logins will be provided. Expenses will not be paid. - Security clearance
- Compliance with council's computer use policy. DBS may be required if access to adult social care databases is required

Skills and experience
Buyers will use the essential and nice-to-have skills and experience to help them evaluate suppliers’ technical competence.

- Have Specialist Knowledge of Microsoft BI Technologies (SSDB, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, Power BI) on premise deployment
- Proven track record of reviewing Requirements and making recommendations
- Experience of Data Warehouse design using SSAS cubes
- Proven track record of implementing BI platforms in complex organisations
- Ability to produce clear, concise and understandable report detailing the recommendations and steps required to implement them
- Have proven experience with agile data warehousing
- Nice-to-have skills and experience

- Able to provide advice around future road map for BI and AI in the organisation
- Domain knowledge of Adult Social Care in local government
- Have experience of Kimball design principles
