How the planning service works We map out your organisation’s existing legacy estate including technologies, versions, data flows, contract end dates, support arrangements, security considerations and existing internal capabilities. Our migration planning takes into account your organisation’s aims, objectives, aspirations and existing plans and programmes. We will work with you to create a phased migration roadmap to move the legacy services to the cloud. We identify where apps can be moved straight to public cloud, where tactical upgrades or replacement would be useful, and which interim migration steps would be most appropriate. Where possible, we develop reusable patterns that can be used for migrations of future legacy services within the organisation.

We’ll help you understand how to recruit or buy the skills necessary to ensure you’re able to migrate to the cloud successfully.

How the setup or migration service works Our experts will work closely with you to design the best migration approach for your organisation. This approach may involve the direct lift and shift of legacy systems to public cloud, or interim steps involving Crown Hosting, private cloud, tactical upgrades and targeted replacement of components. Our experts will help you understand how to get the most out of your existing legacy contracts to support your move to the cloud and where necessary, we’ll help you design new DOS framework outcomes to help you bring in the skills you need to complete the migration. We will work with you, your incumbent suppliers and your new suppliers to ensure a smooth transition. We will work closely with your teams to embed any necessary new skills and processes you need to help you with the move.
