- Atlassian provides a REST API for there applications. This REST API provides a standard interface for interacting with Atlassian applications. To use a REST API, your application will make an HTTP request and parse the response. Your methods will be the standard HTTP methods like GET, PUT, POST and DELETE. REST APIs operate over HTTP(s) making it easy to use with any programming language or framework. The input and output format for the Atlassian applications REST APIs is JSON.

We primarily use AWS CLI tools to take snapshots of the customer environments. We also use the CLI for simple tasks, for example, providing customers with part or all of their data on demand via the S3 bucket.
The CLI works with user roles which are limited to certain services in AWS. Users are not able to perform admin tasks or delete operations
