For more comprehensive support this can be provided as required at an agreed cost in addition to CMP’s standard implement of your LINQ service which includes training a LINQ trainer. The in-house capability has shown to be the best help as its from your known support structure in much the same way as you would self-help with using a Microsoft Office 365 type of product. Technical support, access/security is provided through the dedicated Level 2 support provided by LINQ. Technical help to client Administrators and internal technical staff is via the email ticket system and all specific levels of support required can be defined in the Service Level Agreement, which forms part of the standard contract for each individual client, including any special on-boarding requirements.

Availability and resilience

Availability and resilience
Guaranteed availability LINQ uses AWS’s EC2 cloud with automatic in-region failover, monitored by Rackspace’s Aviator Managed Service. In the event of an infrastructure failure, AWS will stand up another instance to support LINQ under the agreed SLA. Full guaranteed availability options can be provided and agreed to match specific client needs if required.
Approach to resilience LINQ is based on AWS’s EC2 cloud, supported by Rackspace’s Aviator Managed Service. Rackspace is a resilient platform that represents AWS best operational practice. Beyond that, all of LINQ’s critical business systems are cloud-based, ensuring that our business remains resilient to disruptive events so direct support/business continuity is assured.
Outage reporting LINQ uses Rackspace’s managed services for AWS to provide the monitoring of LINQ and AWS services. In the event of an outage affecting LINQ customers, Rackspace will immediately notify LINQ support staff who in turn will notify customers of the situation. In the event that a service outage is required for LINQ application, e.g. maintenance, customers will be notified of the planned outage which will be planned to occur out of normal business hours.

Information security policies and processes LINQ stores metadata that describes an organisation’s information flows in terms of processes, information entities, systems and people. Security of this metadata is critically important to LINQ’s customers and therefore to LINQ Ltd. Our policies and processes have covered all facets of information security from infrastructure to platform design to operations and support. LINQ follow AWS best-practice in terms of design, implementation, change processes and monitoring of our cloud infrastructure. The software development lifecycle is carefully controlled in terms of how code is written, tested and deployed to ensure that information security standards are always maintained.

Operational security

Operational security
Configuration and change management standard Supplier-defined controls
Configuration and change management approach LINQ’s SCM process follows ITIL best practices. Configuration items are documented and kept up to date. Changes to configuration are fully tested in a staging environment to gain approval for production rollout. Application of configuration changes into the production environment is restricted to authorized team members. Post implementation of configuration changes are audited to ensure expected operation
Vulnerability management type Supplier-defined controls
Vulnerability management approach LINQ uses the Rackspace Aviator Managed Service for AWS. This service provides a monthly audit of platform vulnerabilities in accordance with AWS best practice. LINQ support is notified when action is required. If a customer requires a more specific assessment, LINQ allows vulnerability assessments to be performed by prior arrangement and at the customers’ expense
Protective monitoring type Supplier-defined controls
Protective monitoring approach LINQ uses the Rackspace Aviator Managed Service for AWS (see for more information). This provides a continuous protective monitoring of the LINQ platform. LINQ use AWS trusted advisor and Rackspace Compass tools to provide regular tests of its security process and controls to ensure they follow AWS best practices.
Incident management type Supplier-defined controls
Incident management approach LINQ’s incident management approach is based on the ITIL incident management process. LINQ works to ensure that normal operation is restored quickly and business impact is minimized.

Incidents are logged and assigned a priority. Incidents are investigated and the resolution recorded. A change request may be raised to resolve an incident.

The use of the Rackspace Aviator managed service ensures the following infrastructure response times:
• Emergency: < 15 min
• Urgent: < 1 hour
• Standard: < 4 hours
