Configuration and change management standard Supplier-defined controls
Configuration and change management approach Abatis’ products are uniquely identifiable by version numbers following Microsoft guideline on versioning. Modules are MD5 and SHA1 hashed to ensure the product versions delivered to customers are not tampered.
All licences issued by Abatis have licence keys generated specifically for the customer using the customer’s details and other criteria which make all licences unique, traceable and re-creatable.
Any and all proposed changes to the product are assessed from a technical, security and commercial point of view to ensure that they are required, secure, marketable and add to the positive security posture and quality of the product.
Vulnerability management type Supplier-defined controls
Vulnerability management approach Abatis monitors various channels such as the OWASP top 10, NCSC threats etc. to determine whether any of these pose a threat to the service.
Updates that fix security flaws are the highest priority items and are offered immediately to existing customers using a variant marking scheme. When new features are added to the product these would also attract a variant marking until such time as enough changes have been made or are scheduled to warrant a full version update. Offline internal penetration testing is conducted to determine whether any countermeasures need to be improved.
Protective monitoring type Supplier-defined controls
Protective monitoring approach An incident may be reported by internal or external user or third party by phone, email or directly in person. Evidence from error messages, log files, configuration settings, etc. is gathered and a technical employee will confirm validity.
A manager who is authorised to make decisions regarding security incidents will assess the priority, severity, impact, timescales and other relevant factors before assigning a technical employee to resolve the security incident, with appropriate documentation updates, regression testing and concluding report, as required.
A manager will approve and authorise the full and final resolution of the security incident.
