How the planning service works When moving to a cloud-based solution organisations have the choice to implement the processes already in place, or make incremental changes or undertake a full transformation. Many organisations want to make changes but do not have the skill-set or methodology to undertake the project.

Our service begins with a detailed review of existing processes, which are then benchmarked against peers and sector best practice. A redesign exercise is then undertaken to increase value creation and eliminate waste. Elements reviewed are likely to include unnecessary steps, waiting times, stock, and resource overheads. The redesign exercise, often done in collaboration with our clients, normally results a number of options. It is then that we undertake a stakeholder engagement exercise to solicit the views of clinicians and other professionals to obtain their ideas and buy-in for changes. When the chosen option for processes is identified a documentation pack is created. It will include the approach, options considered, and full detail mapping of the final process and implementation plan.

The redesigned process is then available for implementation. These redesign exercises are important to cloud-based projects, as they bring additional benefits and challenges such as location-less working, paperless, virtual teams, communications, multiple device access.
