Planning

Planning service
Yes
How the planning service works
The service enables cloud programmes teams and their stakeholders to understand, during planning, the nature and time / financial costs that will be incurred on technical testing before it is safe to take the system live. It also supports the planning process with working out how to discharge these needs in the most effective way. Knowing these things avoid surprises emerging during the execution of the programme. Having to retrospectively add major test activities into a tightly scheduled programme of work incurs direct costs, causes delays and incurs significant indirect costs as a result of delays and disruption. This service greatly reduces the risk of such issues.

Quality assurance and performance testing service
Yes
How the quality assurance and performance testing works
This service improves the quality of technical test delivery by avoiding the retrospective addition of activities into a programme plan, something that often involves major compromises, and providing structure and clear definition to planned activities. Low quality technical testing, omission of important threats, poor scoping, partial or cosmetic delivery, is a significant risk to a programme and has caused many programme failures and service collapses. By ensuring there is clarity around the needs for technical testing, on what will be done, on what will not be done and on how things are to be done the service contributes greatly to the effective quality assurance of cloud programmes.
