Planning service
How the planning service works
During the planning stage of any project a good understanding of the cost base, and its limitations, will enable sound decisions to be made early on.

We will support our customer to make important decisions before the implementation phase and to give them a good understanding of the likely costs of the implementation phase. This is achieved through robust and auditable cost estimating and modelling methods, including investment appraisal, to understand the financial impacts of decisions.

In addition, when seeking approval to enter the implementation phase, our business case support will ensure that our customer has full confidence in the financial information within the business case.

IMDs Cost Governance service will support our customer to ensure the correct cost management strategy is employed and that interfaces with internal and external stakeholders and functions are well defined.

Our Cost Management service and processes are compliant with HMT Green book and JSP 507.

Training service provided
How the training service works
As part of the Cost Management service we will provide knowledge and skills transfer from IMD's cost professionals to organisations, via one-to-one training, coaching, development and mentoring on all elements relating to Cost Management. This will ensure that the best practice methods applied during the delivery of our service are adopted by staff with key skills and knowledge being retained following the completion of the contract.

Setup and migration

Setup or migration service available
How the setup or migration service works
IMD’s Cost Management service will provide our customer with confidence of the cost associated with migrating to or between cloud services.

IMD’s consultants will work with our customer to understand current costs of their cloud service and compare these to the costs associated with the new cloud services. This will enable our customer to make the best value for money decisions. The process of estimating the costs of both services will provide our customer's organisation with greater understanding of the scope and limitation of the services.

Our service will also support our customer in budgeting for the transition, including appropriate risk provision, and ensure that if a business case is required that the financial element is fully understood.

Quality assurance and performance testing

Quality assurance and performance testing service
How the quality assurance and performance testing works
IMD’s Cost Management service provides our customer with quality assurance on the accuracy of the forecasted costs associated with cloud services throughout the service lifespan.

We assess the intended scope of the service and independently assess the cost estimates provided by service providers to validate the accuracy of existing cost estimates for the delivery of the service at any point. Within the cost management service, we are also able to devise performance indicators based on service costs to assess how the service is performing against the intended, or desired standard.

Support levels
For each engagement through G-Cloud 11, you will be provided with an IMD Account Manager who will be your central point of contact throughout the delivery of services. Where possible, we aim to provide you with an Account Manager who has experience operating within the relevant field associated with the engagement to coordinate the delivery of similar services.
In addition to the Account Manager, we endeavour to provide you with an additional layer of Account Support in the form of a secondary point of contact for each engagement. In this way, we mitigate the likelihood of having a single point of failure, and have mechanisms in place to maintain continuity of service.
Support will be provided remotely via email and phone for the most part, with the flexibility to arrange meetings on site or at our offices when needed. On site support can be offered during the working week where requests are made prior to proposals being submitted / individual call-off contracts agreed.
Your Account Management and Support resources are typically integrated into the delivery team and so costs are included within the proposal for each engagement.
