|How the planning service works||
As part of the 'discovery' phase, we provide an in-depth assessment of the entire IT Portfolio, including people, process, applications, infrastructure and other assets.
o Discovery: of all applications, infrastructure and other assets using automated discovery with tools such as ADDM and manual discovery through Workshops, templates, interviews with application and infrastructure subject matter experts
o Identify Dependencies: using TCS’ proven Frameworks and solution accelerators for Application to Application, Application to Server mapping. Identifying any constraints like Business, Application, Technology and People. Detailed Inventory (Hardware, Software) and System Utilisation.
The 'analysis' phase follows that includes:
o Recommendation - with Road Maps for Applications and Process Re-engineering steps to enable a risk-calibrated transition to cloud. Based on a Factory Model to ensure predictable outcomes.
o Perform Data Analysis: Using data collected, perform analysis and determine optimum target environment.
o Target State Design: Arrive at migration strategy based on analysis of server age, virtualisation sizing, utilisation and licensing requirements. Determine target state Server, Storage, Network requirements. Determine target state Security requirements
o Plan and Schedule: Create a Project Plan with detailed move group scheduling based on dependencies.
