Onboarding and offboarding

Onboarding and offboarding
Getting started The on-boarding process is straightforward. Customers select the services required and this selection forms the basis of the contractual arrangements. Services can be changed at any time, subject to the Task Innovations change control process and minimum monthly spend limits. Services can be customised to better suit a customer’s requirements and this work will be charged for on a time and materials basis.
The off-boarding process is equally straightforward. Customers need to provide notification in line with our contracted Terms and Conditions document. The services are terminated and all data is deleted. If customers wish for the services to be transition to a new provider, this work is charged on a time and materials basis. All customers will be provided with a dedicated Cloud service provider account and this and any assets contained within the account can be transferred to the customer or a new provider. All assets belonging to Task Innovations will be removed prior to the transfer, but environments will be left in an operational state.

Operational security

Operational security
Configuration and change management standard Conforms to a recognised standard, for example CSA CCM v3.0 or SSAE-16 / ISAE 3402
Configuration and change management approach We follow best practice as described in ITIL V.3
Vulnerability management type Conforms to a recognised standard, for example CSA CCM v3.0 or SSAE-16 / ISAE 3402
Vulnerability management approach Systems are continually monitored and logs analysed for threats. Honey pots are implemented at strategic locations to detect any suspicious traffic
After a threat, impact and vulnerability assessment is performed to understand the risk. Patches are deployed in order of severity of the risk. With high-risk cases patches are made an absolute priority and deployed as soon as possible. We get information about potential threats from external sources such as MITRE, NVD/NIST etc.
Protective monitoring type Conforms to a recognised standard, for example CSA CCM v3.0 or SSAE-16 / ISAE 3402
Protective monitoring approach We have a protective monitoring suite based on elastic search, fluentd, and kibana, with detection rules implemented. We also have automated detection and response tools that can implement IP black-holing for a set period of time if required or report suspicious activity. Tooling on servers, monitors, key process and files: if a key process stop it is automatically restarted if a config file is changed it automatically reverted.
Incident management type Conforms to a recognised standard, for example, CSA CCM v3.0 or ISO/IEC 27035:2011 or SSAE-16 / ISAE 3402
Incident management approach Incident manangement is part of ITIL V3 approach and can be customised for each customer.

Separation between users

Separation between users
Virtualisation technology used to keep applications and users sharing the same infrastructure apart Yes
Who implements virtualisation Third-party
Third-party virtualisation provider Amazon Web Services (AWS)
How shared infrastructure is kept separate Different instances running on the same physical machine are isolated from each other. In addition, the AWS firewall resides within the hypervisor layer, between the physical network interface and the instance's virtual interface. All packets must pass through this layer.
Customer instances have no access to raw disk devices, instead are presented with virtualized disks. Memory allocated to guests is scrubbed (set to zero) by the hypervisor when it is unallocated to a guest. The memory is not returned to the pool of free memory available for new allocations until the memory scrubbing is complete.
