Service constraints The published results are fully public on the web, so this service is suitable only for fully public data. The data must be extracted and embedded within the published dashboards, live database links are not available. There are no options for automatic updates when the underlying data changes. The dashboards are published in US data centres and this cannot be changed. Dashboards must be built using a Windows or Mac desktop or laptop

Getting started For the free, public service, the included onboarding assistance is limited to a brief introductory tutorial provided remotely. This can be supplemented using the companion Tableau Data Visualisation service, which can provide early design and training assistance.

End-of-contract data extraction For the free, public service, all design is performed on a Windows or Mac desktop. The original copy of the data used will also reside on this desktop. Publishing effectively copies the finished dashboard to the online service, but the original copy of the dashboards and the data remains on the desktop. There is therefore no need to extract the data as it always resides on the desktop.
End-of-contract process The public service is not time limited, so the contract never ends. A user can delete their account at any time. If they wish to retain a copy of the published dashboards prior to account deletion, then they can download the published dashboards prior to account deletion.
