How the planning service works
We work seamlessly with our clients in multi-disciplinary teams (comprising portfolio management specialists, programme directors, business architects, cloud technical architects, agile digital delivery experts and procurement specialists) to develop a vision and target operating model for enterprise portfolio management. We identify and elaborate a set of portfolio management user journeys in key areas such as scenario planning, benefits management and reporting so that the priority enterprise portfolio management requirements and capabilities the EPM solution should provide may be confirmed. We work closely with the delivery teams to understand their existing ways of working and the tools that are already in use. We develop and test a set of collaboration guidelines, such as a planning taxonomy, which helps delivery teams to communicate their plans and achievements in a consistent way which is sensitive to the way they work. We evaluate cloud-based portfolio management tools to test and refine the target operating model and user journeys. We identify data requirements and the changes needed to align data to the collaboration guidelines. We help our clients to evaluate and procure cloud-based portfolio management tools and assist with implementing the enterprise portfolio management solution, building capability and aligning working practices across the delivery programmes.
