How the planning service works
BAE Systems specialises in supporting individuals and teams as they plan transitions to cloud-based systems and can assist in the planning of the behavioural changes necessary to achieve sustainable benefits from new ways of working. We have deep experience of delivering pan-organisational change in complex, multi-stakeholder public sector organisations and help our customers plan and prepare for business change around the implementation of cloud-based technologies using a pragmatic, benefits-focused change management approach. Initially, this approach will work to define and articulate a shared Business Vision and a clear case for change, helping you to gain vital leadership commitment to a change to cloud-based technologies. As plans develop the approach will ensure that individual stakeholder engagement is maintained through detailed stakeholder assessments and tailored strategies for the overall change programme, as well as for discrete aspects such as communications and training. Underpinning this will be the carrying-out of rigorous assessment processes to establish baselines for technical and site readiness in addition to the knowledge and skills of the people affected by the planned change. Again, as plans develop and options are selected, these assessments will be continuously maintained, identifying any key delivery risks as they arise.

How the setup or migration service works
The BAE Systems Change Management approach supports the development and execution of setup and migration plans, to transfer services into cloud-based live operation with minimal disruption. In addition, to support customers through change programmes as they migrate to cloud-based technologies we work to design, develop and manage communication channels and content, particularly to de-mystify ‘cloud’ and explain in practical terms what adopting cloud-based services will mean for people. We support the adoption of cloud-based working practices, particularly the cultural changes required as services migrate, through the use of strategies to promote acceptance of the change and embed new ways of thinking and working. Key to this is the recognition of both political and emotional factors when assessing an organisation, a group, or an individual's appetite for change; central to our approach is the identification and mobilisation of change agents and expert users from within the teams undergoing the change. We will also support the technical change during setup and migration to the cloud by developing and managing effective service validation and testing plans, asset and configuration management, and release and rollout strategies based on detailed impact and readiness assessments.
