Why the work is being done The aim of this project is to deliver a new website for the planned merged trust. Reflecting the new trust’s unique position in England, we want our new website to have a structure, look and feel that is different from the majority of more formulaic NHS trust websites.

Delivery timescale for the core elements are currently aligned with planned merger of the Trust (currently Feb 2020), however we wish to work towards a 2019 completion for all design/technical elements.

For details, please visit the link below and access the brief and specification documents (contact iain.copeland@tst.nhs.uk for password):

Problem to be solved Deliver a new website for the planned merged trust
Who the users are and what they need to do The audience for the two organisations’ current websites is made up of:
• Patients and visitors
• Prospective staff members researching the organisations
• Staff members accessing documents
• Members of the public.
• Job Seekers

Today’s websites are viewed on a wide range of devices and screen sizes. It is important that the website is fully mobile responsive so there are no barriers to accessing our information.

Further details regarding Website users can be found in the Website brief, which can be accessed through the link below (contact iain.copeland@tst.nhs.uk for password):

Early market engagement A Prior Information Notice (PIN) was published in February 2019 asking interested suppliers to submit a short presentation outlining their solution, based on a some brief requirements. The Trust met with a handful of these suppliers to further understand their solution and to help inform the next stages of the procurement.

Existing team Both current websites are managed by the Communications team as communications tools. Communications team members have some technical knowledge but the primary expertise within the team is communications.
The communications team is small and relies on the support of services to ensure that their information on the website is accurate and up to date.

Address where the work will take place Taunton and Somerset NHS Foundation Trust (TST) and Somerset Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (Sompar) are working together in a formal alliance and plan to merge in the future.

Sompar provides community, mental health and learning disability services across Somerset while TST provides services from Musgrove Park Hospital and some community settings.
Working arrangements The Trust acknowledge that a significant amount of work will be carried out off site however we request a minimum of 2 'discovery-style' stakeholder workshops, to be held on premise, at a designated site in Somerset. Milestones should be agreed up front with the Trust, with significant feedback sessions being held on premise, at Taunton and Somerset NHS FT. Any anticipated costs should be reflected within the tender submission.
