Questions asked by suppliers

Questions asked by suppliers
Supplier question Buyer answer
1. 1) Would you like us to quote rate exclusive of VAT or inclusive of VAT? Exclusive of VAT
2. 2) Do you have a maximum budget or budget range for this role? The maximum day rate has been left blank intentionally, we will assess the day rate for suppliers using the evaluation weighting we have disclosed on the requirements.
3. 3) Are there any possibilities of extensions within this role? It's posing quite challenging to attract contractors for a 20 day contract. This is a one-off service requirement, not a full time role. The limited, short-term nature of the work should be reflected in the Supplier response.
4. 4) Is there an incumbent or a preferred supplier in place for this opportunity? This is a new, specific, one-off service requirement, not a full time role.
There is neither an "incumbent" nor “preferred supplier in place”.
5. 5) Do you have a budget in place for the 20 day contract? Yes.
6. 6) Is there any possibility that the successful supplier will be required to extended beyond the 20 days to help implement the changes needed? The Supplier will be required to provide support to resolve and document recommendations for improvements and efficiencies to align with best practise. It is anticipated that the implementation of recommendations will be undertaken by internal team and will commence before the contract completes.
It is not anticipated that the service requirement will be required to be extended beyond the 20 days.
7. 7) What is the IR35 status of the role? We see this role as sitting outside of IR35, as the candidates would not hold a fixed office position and will not have direct day to day direction or supervision.
8. 8) As per your statement that this role sits outside IR35, can this role be performed remotely, with perhaps regular on site meetings? The anticipated working arrangements will necessitate face-to-face meeting with both Key Users and a number of technical support teams such as Service Management and Operations, Development and Network teams.
With this relatively short engagement, we would require the Specialist on site during the investigation phase for meetings and any network discovery activities. The Specialist can complete subsequent report writing remotely with prior agreement from the Business. The Specialist will also be required onsite to present and discuss the report.
9. 9) What is the max daily rate for this role? The maximum day rate has been left blank intentionally, we will assess the day rate for suppliers using the evaluation weighting we have disclosed on the requirements.
10. 10) Following the initial investigation phase, would there be any scope for a longer-term assignment, with the same consultant? This is a one-off service requirement, not a full time role.
