About the work

Why the work is being done
"DCC work with a wide range of partners requiring access to Devon County Council's line of business systems. Traditional system access approach has been to provide internal DCC user account details for authentication and authorisation. We'd like to review this approach to reduce associated license costs, make it easier for partners' staff and develop a smoother process.

We want to understand better how we work with partners, categorising these, and match needs to current and near-future technical solutions. We want to capture the right data to manage partner access to our systems more efficiently."

So that I can work seamlessly with Devon County Council staff for the benefit of the people of Devon"

"DCC make extensive use of an on-premise instance of Microsoft Active Directory in managing Staff and Partner authentication.
DCC have a developing use of Microsoft Azure AD alongside Office365 SharePointOnline, OneDriveForBusiness and other associated technology use.
DCC have a developing awareness of Azure AD related services B2B and B2C and recognise that these offer opportunity to reduce reliance on our on-premise directory service - but have yet trial or implement technical solutions based on this."

You'll be working with a Business Partner, a Technical Architect and a Digital Apprentice who will assist you throughout the project.

Address where the work will take place
County Hall, Exeter. There could be travel within Devon.
Working arrangements
Within Devon for meetings with stakeholders. At other times you can work remotely on agreement with DCC. The teams' Digital Apprentice will provide support, gather information and enable engagement with partner staff. The work may be broken into groups of days with breaks whilst information is being gathered, meetings arranged, etc.
Security clearance
The winning provider may be required to complete a Public Service Network (PSN) Agreement and would be required to sign the Data Processing Agreement.
