The Office for Product Standards and Safety requires a highly skilled, collaborative Drupal 8 Developer with expertise in delivering digital services in line with the GDS Digital Service Standards.

They will iterate the PAR service with additional features from the product backlog, ensuring the Register continues to meet user needs.

We will provide the following roles that the procured specialist will work with:

The specialist will also work in association with the supplier providing the service support for PAR, contracted via the central BEIS DDaT team.
What the specialist will work on
Primary Authority Register (PAR) offers businesses the opportunity to form a legally recognised partnership with one local authority, which then provides reliable regulatory advice for other councils to take into account when carrying out inspections or dealing with non-compliance.

Regulators are required to use the PAR Register (https://primary-authority.beis.gov.uk/) for many of their transactions concerning businesses participating in PAR. The Register was redeveloped to support legislative changes which came into force on 1/10/17. We require a Drupal 8 Developer to help deliver ongoing iteration of the service in public beta.

The primary site will be 1 Victoria Street, London SW1H 0ET.

However, OPSS have other sites including an office in Birmingham and the specialist may be required to work there on occasion to engage with OPSS colleagues and stakeholders.
Working arrangements
The specialist will be located at 1 Victoria Street, London and adhere to BEIS normal working hours (09:00 - 17:00).

Suppliers must comply with the BEIS travel and subsistence policy.

There may be the occasional need to travel to OPSS offices in Birmingham.
Security clearance
Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance required.

5. Can you please confirm if this is an additional requirement or a re-release of the UK SBS IT18220 BEIS Public Beta Development Support for Primary Authority Register (PAR) published on the 7th September.
We can confirm that this is an additional requirement. There will be two full time developers working on the service.

7. You have advertised two roles for the same programme, one requires SC Clearance (QA Analyst) and the other just just a BPSS (Drupal Developer) is this correct?
Yes, this is correct. The QA role will be working across different services and have access to different types of information within those systems within and so we feel SC clearance for this role will be necessary.

Are you looking for direct experience? Our candidate has worked on projects where this has been done, but did not have visibility, as a developer, on how the testing process happened. They would have asked the QA person how they do it.
