Questions asked by suppliers

Questions asked by suppliers
Supplier question Buyer answer
1. Please confirm if the role is inside or outside of IR35 As stated in the advert the Intermediaries Legislation does not apply to this engagement, concluded by using the ‘check employment status for tax’ online tool https://www.tax.service.gov.uk/check-employment-status-for-tax/cluster/.
2. Has there been interviews held previously for this role as it seems to have been advertised before? The role was previously advertised, however, no suitable candidates were found to take forward to interview.
3. The day rate for the buyers day rate £280 does not match the supplier day rate showing, I am assuming this is an error? I was wondering if you could confirm the correct rates? The Maximum Day Rate for the Project Support Officer is, as advertised, £280 per 8 hour day worked. The post will be based entirely at a single site with no travel anticipated.
4. If we have already submitted a specialist through the portal and we have found a another CV who we feel looks strong is it possible to send them through directly? This requirement is for a digital specialist opportunity, this only allows 1 specialist per supplier to be put forward as advised in the below link. The Authority cannot accept further applications beyond the specialist application submitted on the PSO opportunity. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/how-to-sell-your-digital-outcomes-and-specialists-services#apply-for-an-outcomes-specialists-or-user-research-participants-opportunity
5. Please advise whether there is a preferred candidate for this role who already has DV clearance. The role was previously advertised and no suitable candidates were found to take forward to interview. The Authority has no preferred candidate.
6. As you have mentioned that MOD DV clearance required on day one of the appointment due to the sensitivity of the role, if the candidate does not have the clearance, would the buyer apply for that clearance for the candidate or do you want candidates already having MOD DV clearance in hand? As stated in the advert, applicants are required to have MOD DV clearance on day 1 of the appointment. No assistance will be provided to obtain this.
7. As DV is required from day 1 will the client/customer be looking to transfer the DV to themselves as this can be time consuming? Or if the candidates has a DBS/UKSV MOD DV will this be enough to get them started? As stated in the advert, applicants are required to hold MOD DV clearance on day 1 of the appointment. The Authority will not require transfer of the DV as it will be the responsibility of the agency or applicant to maintain and renew this clearance. No assistance will be provided by the Authority to maintain this clearance.
8. We have a candidate with NATO clearance which is just as good as DV. Would NATO clearance be acceptable? As stated in the advert, applicants are required to have MOD DV clearance on day 1 of the appointment. For this requirement NATO clearance cannot be accepted in place of MOD DV clearance.
