- Who the specialist will work with
- The assignment holder will need to liaise with project management, project controls, commercial, integrated logistics support, security & network architects and assurers, change management, operations management etc, advising on solution technical & delivery detail, including any emerging risks and issues which may affect delivery; these may include performance, policy, or contractual/financial matters.
- What the specialist will work on
- Project delivery engineer to lead on planning, design, solution integration and design security assurance of Steelhead Riverbed 570M and 770Ms as a network optimisation solution onto an existing red network, in order to improve user experience for using networked services over high latency low bandwidth network links. Will drive successful, timely and secure implementation and setting conditions for supportability.

- Regular work with technical specialists in support team, face to face meetings and workshops. Occasional meetings in other customer locations, travelling within the working day where possible.

- The Supplier undertakes to abide by the provisions of the Official Secrets Act 1911 to 1989 and Section 182 of the Finance Act 1989. In the event that the Supplier fails to comply with this Condition, the Buyer reserves the right to terminate this contract by giving notice in writing to the supplier.

- Experience of being involved in projects within a complex change environment involving secure system integration
- Ability to engage with multiple stakeholders across the business to support the delivery of solution
- Have a good understanding and be able to operate in a ITILv3 Service Management framework
- Experience/knowledge of WAN acceleration/compression/caching technologies & solutions
- Experience/Knowledge of TCP, specifically in TCP acceleration techniques
- Experience/knowledge in Network Quality of Service performance
- Experience in designing and delivering Riverbed SteelHead product
- Proven experience in producing HLD & LLD documentation
- Strong communication skills, working between customer and engineering teams
- Previous experience with performance monitoring and alerting systems
- Ability to work well within a team
- CCNA R&S essential,
- RCSA essential,
- an experienced Network Solutions Engineer with a good level of knowledge and experience of IT networks and WAN optimisation.
