Summary of the work
Suitably Qualified Experienced Personnel (SQEP) sought to support the Cyber Project manager in delivering requirements and strategy documentation for a complex defensive cyber solution.

This support will ensure that effective cyber defence solutions are developed and procured and will provide long term value for money to Defence.

A range of stakeholders, both Military and Civilian to include primarily:

- The Project Manager
- The user community
- Finance and Commercial colleagues
What the specialist will work on
Support the Cyber Project manager to deliver a replacement defensive cyber solution by carrying out:

1. Development of requirements. Reviewing existing documentation, liaising with key stakeholders to understand and capture the needs of the user groups, capturing and prioritising the complete requirements set (all Defence Lines Of Development). Assessing current tools/applications used against requirements.

2. Produce/Review/manage Technical Risk Assessment for the transition to a new solution.

3. Provide relevant technical input into strategy and approvals documentation for the transition.

4. General Support to the Project Manager

5. Project updates including final report

6. Attendance and input at meetings / workshops.

Working arrangements
This is a short but intensive piece of work which will require the individual to be on-site 5 days per week to liaise with the relevant stakeholders and develop the deliverables sufficiently.

There may be the opportunity to work from another location on certain days if this becomes necessary and is agreed with the Project Manager.
Security clearance
The individual must hold current valid Developed Vetting Clearance.

Additional terms and conditions
The individual must be prepared to sign in advance of commencing work, a Non-Disclosure Agreement covering the information that they will exposed to during the course of this contract.

All contractual payments shall be made using the MOD CP&F system.

Essential skills and experience
  • Have experience in capturing and understanding complex cyber requirements
  • Have knowledge and understanding of complex network architectures in terms of dependencies/links to other systems,
  • Be able to specify cyber requirements, taking into consideration dependancies, constraints and interoperability issues
  • Have a good level of understanding about current defensive cyber software, accreditation, and standards such as NIST, ISO
  • Have a good understanding of the Defensive Cyber work carried out by JCU Corsham or linked teams
Nice-to-have skills and experience
  • Have experience of writing approvals documentation and procurement strategies
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the MOD requirements capture process and MOD approvals process.
