A Team of Network engineers (minimum 3 ) is required to Configure and install WiFi and resolve issues at approx 116 GP Practices in the Kent and Medway area.
This is Phase 2 of a Project that started in 2017.

About the work

Why the work is being done
There is an NHSE requirement to provide WiFi access to Public and staff in all GP Practice sites.
NELCSU started the project to install the Wireless infrastructure in 2016/17. The 17/18 Project is a continuation of the agreed and approved project.
Problem to be solved
NELCSU need a team to complete Phase 2 of the WiFi infrastructure Project. Approx 116 Practices
The project is already defined and documented but a team of a minimum of 3 x engineers are required to complete the AP and POE switch configuration tasks and visit GP Practices to switch the WiFi services on.

Network Engineers must have previous NHSE GPIT experience and must have current working knowledge Cisco CPE’s
Who the users are and what they need to do
The team must include a minimum of 3 Network engineers that have NHS GPIT experience of WiFi installations preferably in the Kent and Medway area. There are approx 116 Sites to be configured and switched on

The work will require the configuration of AP's & POE switches at GP sites. Troubleshooting and resolution of issues. Liaising with GP Practice Managers and staff.

All works will take place during Practice opening hours

All of the team are required to have excellent Customer service skills and have a calm and professional manner when dealing with all customers

Essential skills and experience
  • Previous NHS Experience - Preferably in the Kent and Medway area
  • Network engineers with previous NHS GPIT experience of WiFI configuration and installations
  • Network Engineer with NHS GPIT experience and working knowledge of POE Switches, Cisco, Brocade and HP Procurve Configurations
  • Excellent Customer Service skills and a calm and professional approach
