This role requires extensive knowledge of both types of environment ensuring the migration optimises the services offered by AWS whilst minimising lock-in, in parallel with improving the architecture to enable resilience, rapid scaling, and ease of maintenance and change.

- Migration from VMWare-based IaaS to AWS ensuring resilience, scalability and maintainability of final outcome.

- Working arrangements
- Normal hours 9 - 5.30am Monday to Friday. Expected to be on site a minimum of 3 days a week, using Slack and other channels to keep in communication with team when working remotely. Expected to attend stand-ups, retros ect. Contribute to describing and breaking down epics, provide documentation on technical solutions/decisions,creating presentations for stakeholders and providing other structured knowledge sharing opportunities.

- strong systems development and architecture experience in diverse cloud environments, with good knowledge of open source technologies and testing
- experience of modern infrastructures such as cloud native infrastructure, virtualisation technologies and virtual networking
- experience of configuration management tools like puppet, ansible or chef
- experience of operating a service, including monitoring, diagnosis and incident resolution
- experience designing and implementing secure systems and a good understanding or experience of implementation and running of a PKI
- experience scaling online services
- ability to develop solution design documentation that is reusable and comprehensible for technical teams
- understanding of how to prioritise work in a fast, customer centric, environment
- understanding of agile environments, continual delivery techniques and devops cultures
- understanding of how to influence senior management and communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences
