What the specialist will work on
The UAT Test Manager will be responsible for coordinating testing activities and marshalling resources for Technology Overhaul, a major programme of work within the FCO. This will involve driving testing and business readiness throughout User Acceptance Testing (UAT), Business Cutover and Go-Live for the FCO’s Oracle eBusiness Suite applications (OEBS).

The UAT Test Manager will lead the FCO in defining OEBS test plans and scripts, and take responsibility for their proper execution. The Test Manager will be responsible for engaging with FCO staff and other third parties as needed.

Skills and experience

Buyers will use the essential and nice-to-have skills and experience to help them evaluate suppliers’ technical competence.

Essential skills and experience
  • At least five years’ experience of Oracle eBusiness Suite Release 12.1. including design and implementation
  • UK DV Security Clearance.
  • Ability to create or define custom SCCM collections, reports, packages and / or advertisements to support user requests
  • Experience of SMS, SCCM administration including MS patching and software deployments
  • Windows Vista and Windows 2010 technical support experience with advance knowledge of the Windows registry, files and folder security, local/domain user security, and operating system trouble shooting.
  • Able to carry out first line database fixes on Oracle systems
  • Able to use database query languages
  • Understanding of software lifecycle and release management within Central Government
Nice-to-have skills and experience
  • Strong Central Government Financial process and IT understanding, a professional accountancy qualification is preferred.
  • MSI and EXE application packaging experience is a plus
  • Professional IT/IS qualification such as ISEB or verifiable experience within a comparable test / developer environment
  • Desirable is a qualification in IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) or Prince2
