- The Digital BA role will be responsible for understanding services business needs and be able to creatively shape and refine business solutions to meet those needs. You will create user stories and plan development activities to facilitate phased releases of software delivery.

About the work

- Who the specialist will work with
- You will be working within the Customer, Digital, Technology and Transformation Directorate and specifically attached to the Transformation team. You will work closely with both a range of IT project managers and technical resource such as developers, Business Analysts and Change staff. You will also need to work closely with web and communications staff, service leaders, managers and all staff in all services within scope of the transformation programme. You may also work with third party suppliers.

Understand services needs and be able to creatively shape and refine technology solutions to meet those needs with specific experience of Microsoft applications.
Lead and facilitate workshops as part of the Digital Programme and work closely with the Programme Manager / Lead
Understand the business change needs, assess the impact of changes in relation to benefits and translate these into clearly documented requirements for new software applications and services.
Create user stories and plan development activities to facilitate phased releases of software delivery.
Work closely with services and a team of project managers, software developers and data analysts.

- This is a hybrid role with base location in Oldham. Requirement for a mix of onsite / remote working (details to be discussed at interview). There will be limited travel required for the role maybe occasional visits to alternative office sites in Oldham but this should be minimal.

- Qualification in Business Analysis
- . A track record of working on IT development programmes with demonstrable experience of working on a variety of different IT delivery projects
- Exposure to a digital suite of systems such as CRM, Devops, Mobile Apps, BPM
- Experience of working in a GDS framework
- Experience of benefits definition and activity based costing
- Experience of working with a recognised Agile or Iterative development methodology
- Experience of Agile documentation including Backlogs, Customer Journeys, Use Cases, User Stories, Acceptance Criteria etc.
- Experience of a variety of requirements elicitation techniques, (e.g. interviews, questionnaires, user observation, workshops, role playing and prototyping)
- Good facilitation and influencing skills with the ability to work with large groups of staff of varying level of seniority
