As a User Researcher you will be key part of the multi-disciplined DWP Mobile team developing Mobile Apps. You will be required to plan and lead user research activities, prioritising key decisions and work based on user needs. You will be an expert in problem definition and selecting research strategies.

You will be working as part of an internal multidisciplinary Mobility product team and will have access to team members, leadership and our users.
What the specialist will work on
You will be working as part of an internal multidisciplinary Mobility product team helping to develop mobile apps improving user experience. You will be accountable for the end to end delivery of research that considers the time & budget vs outcomes perspective. You will bring to team your recommendations and insights that focuses on user behaviours and experiences based on evidence gathered using a range of research methods.

Working arrangements will be a blend of remote working and working from the Manchester HUB site, you will spend roughly 40% of your time onsite and 60% at home.

  • Experience of doing research for internal applications for large private organisations or Government departments
  • Experience of user centered analysis and design
  • Experience of using a range of research methods to generate insights

Nice-to-have skills and experience

2. Is the role office based or hybrid. If remote working is possible (as with other departments), what is the expectation for number of days in office per month?
Hi, As per our description the role consists of 40% of time spent in the Manchester and the remainder would be remote work.
3. Will the 40% onsite working be a set 2 days a week or are you flexible for the worker to choose their own working pattern around the research needs as long as it meets the 40/60 ratio?
There will be some amount of flexibility around managing the balance, however, we would ask that the candidate be open to attending the office for team meetings etc.
