Summary of the work
This capability will be delivered for 3 organizational use cases in the form of a working solution to be extensible pan-Defence. To enable the rollout of the capability pan-Defence, a supporting Target Operating Model and required training (to the teams who are engaged in delivering the solution) must be delivered.

About the work

Why the work is being done
To realise the strategic outcomes as committed in the Defence Data Strategy and to achieve Digital Backbone ambitions as captured in the Defence Digital Strategy.
Problem to be solved
Defence will have a view on what data it holds, where it is stored, who owns it, what it means, where it came from, the associated metadata (such as policies and processes) and the quality of it across the data life cycle. This is called “Data Cataloguing and curation” capability. Project are looking for a supplier who can deliver this capability by using the Informatica technology platform (Axon, EDC & IDQ), reporting (Power BI) along with an operating model and trained personnel to fully exploit the data.
Who the users are and what they need to do
Once the solution is fully rolled out, the users will be from across the Defence organizations. 
The Key user need is to have trusted data securely discoverable to everyone in a form of marketplace.

Toolset is licensed and its functionalities have been socialized with some key stakeholders in Defence.

Work setup

Address where the work will take place
The main work location will be MOD Main Building Whitehall, London SW1A 2HB but there will be need to work from different MOD locations occasionally. There is also the opportunity for home working.
Working arrangements
It will be blended working environment in terms of location. It is expected that the supplier will be in MOD offices few days a week to meet key stakeholders, drive the requirements, run workshops to deliver solution design, installation/configuration and operating model work. 
T&S to be limited to a maximum of £33k (excluding VAT).
Security clearance
Suppliers will be expected to hold a valid SC clearance at Contract Award.

Essential skills and experience
  • Share example where you installed, configured, integrated Informatica – Axon, EDC, IDQ (on prem & cloud) in large complex organization with varied types of source systems & networks: 35%
  • Share example where you delivered an approved high level architecture, detailed design documentations for a ‘federated’ setup of the toolset in large complex organization with varied types of systems/networks: 30%
  • Share example where you delivered operating model to support the toolset adoption and upskilled a core group to use/maintain/exploit the toolset in large complex organization: 25%
  • Note: The examples should be recent (within last 3 years) & succinctly define context, problem statement, timescale, solution delivered and challenges encountered during the process

  • Confirm if you have a minimum of gold partner status with Informatica: 5%
