About the work

Why the work is being done
It is a requirement of the Nuclear Site Licence for all Magnox sites, that periodic inspections of all nuclear safety related structures and buildings are carried out. The Civils inspections will be undertaken at the following Magnox Ltd Sites:

o Berkeley - South Gloucestershire
o Bradwell - Essex
o Sizewell A - Suffolk
o Dungeness A - Kent
o Hinkley Point A - Somerset
o Hunterston A - Ayrshire
o Trawsfynydd - Gwynedd
o Wylfa - Anglesey
o Oldbury (OLD)
o Chapelcross (CX)
o Harwell (HAR)
o Winfrith (WIN)
Problem to be solved
Magnox Ltd require the following:

A visual based application which captures defect data with location plans/models of the assets and photographs of defects.

The system shall be capable of importing Excel data from historic inspections.

The system should be accessible via a standard internet browser and supported via an Android / IOS Application.

Automated reporting functionality including filtering by any drop-down attribute.

A standardised summary report shall be generated in an MS Word format. Free-text within the report shall be available for specific comments and descriptions as required by the inspectors.

Pin-pointing new defects directly onto building plans/models.

Access to inspection data by Magnox and contractor staff at anytime through a cloud-based system (hosted either by the contractor or by Magnox).

The system shall be scalable to support reporting of defects based on 2,000 defects per site (20,000 in total) with up to 10x high resolution images per defect (assume 10Mb per image).

The system shall be capable of exporting all data into a universal format, including MS Excel.
