- The specialist will be an experienced Senior User Researcher capable of leading a team, planning and delivering user research activities across large and complex projects. They will define problems, selecting the appropriate research strategies, work collaboratively to co-design user services, influence stakeholders and confidently present their work.

- Who the specialist will work with
- The existing team is augmented with a mix of Civil Servants and other 3rd party supplier resource.
- What the specialist will work on
- The specialist will help to define future User Research services provided by the UX team, begin to deliver those services and oversee all user research projects related to Technology Services and partner initiatives including Workplace Transformation and Digital Confidence and Capability. They will be responsible for leading other user researchers (up to 5 people), mentoring and working with them to ensure work and services are of good quality. Advocate for internal users and educate and influence stakeholders to be user-centred
Work setup

- Specialist will work remotely 3-5 days, with up to 2 days per week in the Manchester office as needed. The specialist will be required to be online between the hours of 8:00AM - 17:00PM

Candidate will work as part of an internal multidisciplinary knowledge management team, you will have access to wider resources such as research and design if required.
The specialist will work with the UX Team Lead, Senior Service Designer and other User Researchers, Designers and Business Analyst in the UX team. They will collaborate with colleagues in the Change & Adoption team, and deliver work for product owners and other stakeholders across Technology Services and other business areas - Security clearance
- The supplier will be required to hold BPSS security clearance as a minimum.

- Has experience of managing or leading people within a team, ensuring work quality, guiding and mentoring regarding best practice
- Advocates for the needs of users by educating and influencing persuasively when communicating with stakeholders and senior leadership
- Demonstrate experience of working in a large scale organisation and/or Government or Public Sector
