Skills and experience

Buyers will use the essential and nice-to-have skills and experience to help them evaluate suppliers’ technical competence.

Essential skills and experience
  • Apply understanding of the Data Protection Act to identify legal risk in datasets
  • Apply the Exemptions and Execeptions of the Freedom of Information Act and the Environmental Information Regulations when determing re-use of data.
  • Undertake intellectual property due diligence.
  • Interpret 3rd party licence permissions and seek additional permissions where nececessary.
  • Apply understanding of national security and commercial confidentiality when assessing risk.
  • Experience with using Enterprise Architect Corporate Software for data mapping.
  • Experience of training staff, including non-technical staff, to use mapping software.
  • Experience of maintaining, updating and quality assuring a repository of data flow maps
  • Experience and knowledge of a wide range of data, including both spatial and non-spatial.
