Questions asked by suppliers

Questions asked by suppliers
Supplier question Buyer answer
1. Is there an incumbent? No.
2. Will this role be home based during Covid – or site based from day one.
Do you expect the candidate to be on site 5 days a week, or would some remote work (from home or from our offices) be acceptable?
Will remote working allowed during the lockdown?
The start date advises 15th June and location is London/Croydon. Due to the current pandemic, will this role be starting working remotely? Also once lockdown is over, what is the minimum number of days required on site (is remote working possible)?
The role will be home based / supplier site based during Covid related restrictions. There after some home / supplier site working maybe appropriate.
3. Given the timelines, are candidate might not have received SC Clearance before the latest start date. Would it be acceptable for SC Clearance to be in progress at the start date?
Will the Home Office sponsor SC for a candidate who meets all the requirement but without SC?
Will you accept a candidate without SC, but still willing to go through?
What about people with lapsed SC or active SC, but expiring in 3-5 weeks?
Hi, will you consider sponsoring the right person for SC clearance or are you looking for only SC cleared candidates?
Ideally the successful specialist will hold current SC clearance as the clearance process will delay the service commencement (the administration of which is impacted by Covid). However, it is more important that the successful specialist is the most appropriately skilled and qualified and we will sponsor clearance for the right candidate.
4. Is the SC security clearance required at the outset or is this something that could be obtained post award?
If SC Clearance is not currently held will you sponsor?
Good evening. Due to the current restriction on applying for SC Security Clearances, will you be willing to consider an applicant with a BPSS and a SC either 'In Progress' or waiting to be submitted?
Ideally the successful specialist will hold current SC clearance as the clearance process will delay the service commencement (the administration of which is impacted by Covid). However, it is more important that the successful specialist is the most appropriately skilled and qualified and we will sponsor clearance for the right candidate.
5. Can you expand on the project please – what is 'Tooling'? Tools are items used by teams within the DDaT Professions to collaborate, communicate and effectively delivery DDaT services.
6. There's a few 'Tooling' roles being advertised. Is there any desire to having a single supplier for all roles? There is no desire or strategy to award all role to one supplier. The successful supplier for each role will be the supplier that offers the best value for money - quality, price and cultural fit.
7. Can you clarify that you mean system interfaces by the following statement? "Experience of working with both traditional and modern interfaces". System interfaces equates to technical interfaces. Experience of working in programmes of work that require technical convergence of one or more products or tools.
8. Would you accept a candidate with NPPV3 Clearance? SC clearance is required. See Q 4 above.
9. Do you have details on the total tech stack? What Tech stack, what cloud system? The target convergence infrastructure has yet to be agreed, however, knowledge and experience of cloud environments and deployments would be be advantageous.
10. You've mentioned a number of locations for this work – can you give an idea of where the majority will take place, or what the split will be? The majority of the work, once Home Office Covid working restrictions are relaxed, will be in Croydon and Marsham Street, Westminster.
11. One of the essential questions is "Experience of working with both traditional and modern interfaces and systems integration, to document proposals for possible solutions and drive the solution of choice with the developers and others". By interfaces do you mean technical or user interfaces? Mainly technical, but likely to be some user interfaces.
12. One of the essential questions is "Evidence of ability to map business processes and data flow from source to target according to the data and development lifecycle". Can you explain what you mean by "according to the data and development lifecycle" The requirement is to evidence the ability to map business processes and data flow from source to target. There are numerours flavours of data and development lifecycles so thete is no specific lifecycle we are advocating.
13. I've got a specialist who is DBS & BPSS cleared, are they able to start this contract on the condition that his SC application is in the process? SC clearance must be in place prior to commencing the service.
