Questions asked by suppliers
- 1. Will you accept SC clearance instead of NPPV level 2?
- Yes
- 2. Where are the documents that state the required skills?
- We couldn't fit all the requirements into the box provided. If you like to express an interest in the opportunity by emailing jim.bates8964@leicestershire.pnn.police.uk , I will send the documents and the skills are given in Annex 1 Response to Requirements.
- 3. Is SC clearance must for this role?
- Our preference is NPPV (Non-Police Personnel Vetting) Level 2, however we will accept SC Clearance.
- 4. Would you accept BPSS check as well?
- No. A BPSS or a DBS check isn’t sufficient.
- 5. Is the resource your looking for is an Oracle DBA? To implement the migration of the databases to 19c.
- Yes
- 6. How many databases are involved?
- Maximum 12 (some work is being carried out now and some databases may not be required to migrate).
- 7. What is the range of versions (as some versions of Oracle have to be upgraded in phases)?
- 10g (either 10.2.0.3 or 10.2.0.5), 11g (11.2.0.3 or 11.2.0.4), 12c (12.1) Some of the databases may be patched up to the later by the time the work commences.
- 8. What if any impact assessment have been performed for applications sitting on the older version of Oracle?
- Where relevant, suppliers have been contacted to check compatibility / support.
- 9. What are the risk assessments for these application (if any) or any pre migration testing required.
- Test migration(s) will need to be performed and performance plans drafted and tested.
- 10. What are impacts on the contract if a database and / or application can not be upgraded due to legacy issues?
- Where relevant, suppliers have been contacted to check compatibility / support.
- 11. The DOS framework stats work package is 6-10 day is this correct (As the amount of paper work requested is cost prohibitive for such a small work package)?
- Yes 6-10 days is correct. Please specify what paperwork/quality you would normally supply in the bid and it will be taken into consideration.
- 12. Upgrade of EN Cloud Control is a SYSADMIN task and requires the administrator to run a well-documented SQL script that is found on the Oracle Support Site as well as in the deployment guide for the product. So why is this included, is there some complication that has not been documented in the ITT that breaks the product upgrade path?
- All the source databases are hosted on Server 2003 or Server 2008. The main driver for the work is to decommission unsupported OS. EMCC is on a Server 2008 platform and needs to be replatformed and upgraded onto Server 2016.
- 13. What is maximum day rate?
- We haven’t set one, but we expect the rate to be reasonable / industry standard and it will also be scored as per ITT & Pricing Document .
- 14. I read that we cannot hire someone who is using his limited company. Is that correct?
- No. This is incorrect
- 15. Would you like me to submit the candidate through the Digital Marketplace and then fill out the relevant forms and send them directly to you?
