About the work

Why the work is being done
To ensure detainee’s in temporary places of detention receive the same medical help and treatment as a person outside of temporary custody. In addition to this, to ensure continuity of care for any detainee in the criminal justice system.
Problem to be solved
Partner required to support the programme team with the following services:
1. Supporting the Programmes Outcomes
2. Supporting Governance throughout the programme
3. Ensuring the transformation flow is identified, defined and managed
Who the users are and what they need to do
There are approx.200 places of temporary detention e.g. Police Custody Suites and other places in England. There are various healthcare provider, both private and public sector working in the estate. Providing access to detainee medicla rcords is paramount for the safe and secre detnetion of the detainee.

  • Have demonstrable success in the delivery of programmes within the last 12 months, using industry programme management methodologies.
  • Demonstrable experience of matrix-managing a multi-disciplinary programme team within the last 12 months
  • Have demonstrable experience in reporting, planning, risk, dependency, financial and change management aspects of a Programme within the last 12 months
  • Demonstrable expertise in the transition of projects into a live service environment within the last 12 months
  • Experience of working in places of temporary detention delivering ICT networks and infrastructure
  • Experience and knowledge of design and implementing an electronic medical record system in Police Custody
Nice-to-have skills and experience

The current programme approach is currently a Programme Manager using the MSP methodology, who manages the team of Project Managers, Project Support Officers and Business Analysis who utilise PRINCE 2 and other industry standard approaches and methodologies

The PM's PSOs, and BA's are all working within their own healthcare pathway e.g. Police Custody Healthcare has a team, Courts has a team etc.
